A Hamden Man Denied Bail After Allegedly Assaulting A Cop
Delaware deputies locked-up Henry Stellato III after the 45-year-old allegedly attacked a Deputy Sheriff with a razor blade.
Cops responded to a domestic dispute at a Hamden home on June 2nd. They found Stellato barricaded inside the home and refusing to allow family members to leave the premises.
Authorities said Stellato was armed with a shotgun and made threats to injure members of the Sheriff’s Special Response Team. Officers of the SRT convinced Stellato to put down the weapon and leave the building.
After exiting the home, Authorities say Stellato became uncooperative and physically resisted arrest. He cut a SRT officer with a concealed razor blade taped between his fingers. The condition of the deputy has not been made public at this time.
Stellato was arrested and is facing multiple felony charges including menacing a police officer, and assaulting a cop. The Town of Colchester Court judge denied bail and ordered him remanded to the Delaware County Correctional facility.
The New York State Police, Town of Colchester Police Department, and the Village of Walton Police Department assisted Deputies and SRT members at the scene.
