Drug Take Back Day Is Oct. 28

Next Saturday, October 28th, area law enforcement agencies in cooperation with the Drug Enforcement Administration will be accepting expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs at the twice-a year drug take back event. Pills will be accepted at no charge with no questions asked. Studies show that a majority of abused prescription drugs are obtained from family and friends, including from the home medicine cabinet. In addition experts say the usual methods for disposing of unused medicines-flushing them down the toilet or throwing them in the trash-both pose potential safety and health hazards.
