Last month we learned that the long-awaited Good Burger sequel was not only happening after 25 years but would shoot this spring in locations throughout Rhode Island.

In several Facebook posts on the What's going on in North Providence Facebook page, city residents shared letters they received from Paramount and the film's production company about filming in the area that might affect them.

According to that letter, the movie is going to use the former Friendly's at 1883 Mineral Spring Avenue in North Providence as the movie's fictional burger shop.

This Friendly's was the last to close in Rhode Island over three years ago, but it will now "serve" customers once again for eight days in May. Filming is planned at the site on May 18, 19, 24, 25, 26, 30 and 31 as well as June 1.

Crews are already at the restaurant painting and completing other construction work to turn the former Friendly's into Good Burger, most notably with the robin's egg blue paint going up on the outside.

Other locations are expected to be used around Rhode Island as well, though no other sites have been confirmed.

There's also still time to become cast as an extra in the sequel, with casting calls coming up soon.

Good Burger and the upcoming sequel are based on a popular sketch from 1990s Nickelodeon powerhouse All That starring Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell. Both are slated to star in the new film.
