The Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (C.F.A.P.) and Nourish New York government-funded grant programs have made it possible for local community organizations to provide much needed food to those in need.

The American Dairy Association North East is working with processor Dairy Farmers of America and USDA-approved vendor Food Bank of Central New York, along with the community organizations recipients - SUNY Morrisville – Norwich Campus, as well as additional community partners - to help distribute more than 1,500 gallons of milk and 3,300 boxes of additional food through local drive-thru events. Each vehicle will receive two gallons of milk and one of each food box containing dairy and produce items, while supplies last.

Here is where and when these events will take place;
Friday, August 21

· Oxford Academy Primary School (50 S. Washington Ave., Oxford, N.Y., 13830) from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

· McDonough American Legion (1136 County Rd. 5, McDonough, N.Y., 12801) from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

· Greene Intermediate School (105 Elementary Ln., Greene, N.Y., 13778) from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Saturday, August 22

· Unadilla Valley Central School Elementary Circle (4238 NY-8, New Berlin, N.Y. 13411) from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

To ensure the safety and health of all involved in the distribution, there will be a drive- thru distribution process for this event. All drivers and passengers must remain in their vehicles and will be prompted to open their trunk to receive milk and food products. If cars do not have a trunk, they will be prompted to open their window. Walk-ups will not be permitted. No registration or paperwork is required for this distribution.

Milk and dairy foods are an important source of essential nutrients. Local dairy farmers are committed to producing wholesome, nourishing milk for families throughout the community.

By the end of August, ADANE, USDA-approved purchasing partners and local community organizations will have distributed more than 500,000 gallons of milk since the milk give-away events began in June.
