The Best Breads to Make for a New York Autumn
I was out and about this weekend working a vendor event hosted on a farm when one phrase stopped my in my tracks. Apologies to the fine people having a conversation that I nosed in on, but hello "apple cider donut bread". I was completely unaware that such blatant wizardry existed. Apple cider donuts are manna from heaven as it stands. Imagine having an entire loaf to gorge on. But I digress. The mere mention of breads got me thinking, dear reader, and I realized I should share such wealth with you. As fall continues to cool, people are more inclined to stay in and bake. Here are some recipes for some great fall breads, some are ready for local ingredients that are still available.
Apple Cider Donut Bread
I found this recipe on Facebook courtesy of Buns in My Oven. This cheeky website has all kinds of cool and easy family recipes. Try this one out for yourself!
Double Chocolate Banana Bread
This is a bonus from Buns in My Oven. I stumbled upon it and couldn't NOT share it. Besides, I was planning on sharing a banana bread, and this one just seemed to perfect, and had to share. Double chocolate banana bread. Yeah.
Chocolate Chip Zucchini Bread
Can anyone tell me why this loaf is so polarizing? This is a perennial favorite at my house, when we've gotten to the point that there's so much zucchini available, and we don't want it fried or baked with dinner any more. It's almost like licorice, some really love it, some can't stand it. You can make this with many different things, but for us, it's either chocolate chips or raisins.
