Happy Halloween! It's a day of fun, candy, costumes, parties, and more for those who love to celebrate the day.

And Halloween can be scary. Here are a couple of scary things that have nothing really to do with Halloween, but something you may want to be aware of: a recall and a product containing Listeria.

Milwaukee Tool M18 FUELTM Top Handle Chainsaw

According to a recall report from the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission on October 30 (2025), the Milwaukee Tool M18 FUELTM Top Handle Chainsaw with either a 12” or 14” bar has a recall.

The recall is because the chainsaw’s chain brake may not activate, which could pose a laceration hazard. Ouch. The catalog number is  2826-20 with a serial break identified with "A" in the product’s serial number.

Anyone who has this item is instructed to immediately stop using it and contact Milwaukee Tool for a free repair. Register their product on the Milwaukee Tool Support website to receive a prepaid shipping label for returning��the product to Milwaukee Tool for repair.

A couple of injuries have been reported so far. Approximately 90,860 of these chainsaws have been sold in the United States, and about 7,500 in Canada. For more information, click on the recall website.

Listeria monocytogenes: Prepared Pasta Meals

Also, in the listeria department, on September 30th, 2025, the U.S. Food & Drug Administration issued a report of an expanded recall of certain lots of pre-cooked pasta, including fettuccine, linguine, and farfalle (bowtie) by Nate's Fine Foods, Inc.

A sample of linguine pasta was collected and tested by FreshRealm, which tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes. Anyone who purchased the affected meals should not eat or serve these products. Contact a health care provider to report any symptoms and receive care.

The list of affected meals can he found on the U.S. Food & Drug Administration website. There have been reports of people infected with the outbreak strain of Listeria from 18 states.
