But if your wallet’s been feeling a little lighter lately, you’re not imagining it. According to a new study, New York tops the list for the most expensive Pumpkin Spice Latte in the entire country.

The Price of Fall Comfort in the Empire State

Researchers compared Starbucks prices in 50 major U.S. cities, and here’s the headline: New Yorkers are shelling out nearly $8 for a Grande Pumpkin Spice Latte. That’s the highest price tag in America. It’s a steep price for whipped cream and nostalgia but this is New York, after all. We’re used to paying a premium for the good stuff. Still, it stings a little knowing that someone in, say, Phoenix or Dallas is sipping the exact same drink for a couple bucks less.

New Yorkers Don’t Have to Go Far for Their PSL

While the price is high, convenience is one thing New Yorkers can’t complain about. The same study looked at which cities make it easiest to get your Starbucks fix measuring everything from how many stores are packed into a city to how close they are to home. The study found that in many parts of the state, Starbucks locations are so tightly clustered that your next latte is never more than a few minutes away. It’s practically part of the morning routine: a walk, a podcast, and a PSL in hand.
