
State Police Vehicle Destroyed in Upstate New York
A New York State Police patrol vehicle was involved in a crash Friday evening in Upstate New York after another vehicle reportedly crossed into its lane of travel.
New York State Police Car Involved in Crash
According to New York State Police, two Troopers suffered minor injuries after the patrol car they were driving was involved in an accident at approximately 6:27 p.m. on Friday, June 12th, 2026, along County Route 31 near Hill Road in the Town of Livingston, NY.
Police said a marked State Police patrol vehicle assigned to the barracks in Livingston in Columbia County, NY was traveling southbound when an oncoming vehicle crossed into the patrol vehicle's lane. According to police, the patrol vehicle was occupied by a Field Training Officer and a Probationary Trooper.

The Trooper behind the wheel attempted to avoid the collision by steering onto the west shoulder of the roadway, but unfortunately they were unable to avoid the crash.

Two Troopers Involved
Thankfully, both troopers were able to get out of the vehicle on their own and suffered what police described as minor injuries. They were transported to Columbia Memorial Hospital for evaluation and were later treated and released.
The second vehicle involved in the crash was a Lexus SUV driven by an unidentified 72-year-old New Jersey resident. There were also three additional passengers inside the SUV at the time of the collision. The driver and one passenger were transported to a nearby hospital for medical evaluation, while two other passengers were examined at the scene and declined further treatment.
Following the crash, a "drug recognition expert" responded to the scene to evaluate the SUV driver. Authorities said that there were no signs of impairment and that there is no evidence of criminal activity connected to the crash.
The exact cause of the accident is under investigation. When more information is available, we will update this article.
