After months of "will they, won't they", the New York Jets are sending star safety Jamal Adams packing.

First reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Jets have traded Adams to the Seattle Seahawks. Here's the reported breakdown of the trade.

Seahawks receive:

  • S Jamal Adams
  • 2022 fourth round pick

Jets receive:

  • S Bradley McDougald
  • 2021 first round pick
  • 2021 third round pick
  • 2022 first round pick

It's been no secret that Adams wanted out of New York, with the last matter of outspokeness coming just a few days ago, when Adams questioned the leading ability of head coach Adam Gase.

On paper it seems like a win-win for both teams. Seattle's secondary has been missing some "oomph" since the Legion of Boom days subsided. Adams adds that toughness immediately.

The Jets on the other hand simply did not want to let Adams go unless they reeled in a big haul. An extra first-rounder the next two drafts is not too shabby.

While nowhere near as impactful as Adams, the Jets can try out McDougald in the safety spot. McDougald is coming off a 70-tackle, two interception season with the Seahawks.
