Norwich to Host 2019 Culinary Experience for Habitat for Humanity
For several years, Chenango County Habitat for Humanity (CCHH) has had a tremendously successful, large fundraising event featuring dozens of local restaurants’ favorite soups as well as baked goods, basket raffles, and entertainment. This year, due to several issues beyond their control, CCHH is offering a scaled-down, mini version of the Souper Bowl on Saturday, April 13, in the lobby of the Norwich Family YMCA beginning at 9:00 a.m.
Sandra Colton, Fund Raising Chairman stated, “It is unfortunate that we can't have the big soup tasting event. There will, however, still be delicious soups for sale as well as great baked goods and exciting raffles (baskets, gift cards, etc.)”
For this year's raffle, CCHH is promoting items for up-coming special occasions such as: Mother's Day, Father's Day, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. The raffle of various gift cards will be convenient to acquire presents for these special occasions.
Chenango County Habitat for Humanity wishes to thank all of the county restaurants for their support these past six years and looks forward to their future support. In addition, thanks go to their past and current sponsors: Visions Federal Credit Union, Preferred Mutual, NBT Bank of Oxford, Community Bank, the YMCA for the use of their facilities, and The Pennysaver for their advertising assistance, and the many great volunteers.
Please don’t forget to come by the Norwich YMCA, at 68-70 North Broad Street, on Saturday, April 13, from 9:00 a.m. to around 2:00 p.m., to purchase soup, baked goods, and buy raffle tickets for just a dollar. Help support Habitat to meet its mission of providing affordable housing or rehab projects to families in Chenango County. Habitat for Humanity offers “a hand up, not a handout”.
