Oneonta Native To Compete on ‘American Ninja Warrior’ Show
Oneonta native Anthony Eardley will take on the warped wall and the log grip as he competes on NBC’s “American Ninja Warrior” on May 29.
“It’s very exciting. We’re thrilled,” said his mother Angela, co-owner of the former Oneonta Stallions football team, now in Binghamton.
Eardley, at 28, has been competing in Ninja Warrior competitions for a few years now and revealed to Townsquare Media's Leslie Ann in an interview that he almost beat a top-rated Ninja in the Arnold Schwarzenegger Fitness Event in Ohio. The talent scouts took notice and he got "the call" to be invited to compete on “American Ninja Warrior.” Eardley stressed that this has been a long-time dream come true and he couldn't be more excited.
When he's not doing his Ninja Warrior training, he's helping to bring out the ninja warrior in kids that he teaches in NYC during the week. Anthony is so enthusiastic about helping children overcome fears and building their self esteem. There's no doubt that with his very winning charisma and joy with busting through physical barriers, he has a real shot at becoming the "American Ninja Warrior"!
He will first compete to become one of the top 32 warriors and then, if he succeeds, he'll move on to be one of 15 finalists. Those finalists will then compete in Las Vegas over the summer.
We wish Anthony Eardley great success in the competition. No doubt, he'll hear the loud cheers for him coming all the way from Oneonta to Baltimore, Maryland when he competes on May 29!
