Snowmobilers Have Close Call With A Charging Moose
A man snowmobiling with his family in Idaho had to jump from his machine just in time to not be trampled by a moose that was charging him, and the whole incident was caught on tape.
"So… this humbled us," Jeremiah Bigelow wrote in his Instagram post. "We were riding and my brother got ahead of us. A moose came onto the trail and got in between us. I had my son and two other friends with us. We stopped."
"My brother saw what happened and was trying to draw the moose's attention away from us," Bigelow wrote.
Just when the moose looked to be moving off of the trail and back into the woods, it decided to charge Bigelow's brother.
As the moose charged, Bigelow tried to run the snowmobiler away by cranking the throttle, but the snowmobile bogged out and died. Bigelow jumped from the snowmobile just as the moose tried to ram him off, and the moose's legs flipped after it hit the machine, sending it over the snowmobile.
"Lesson learned… brother should have continued on and given it more space," Bigelow said.
Bigelow said the moose was not injured and walked off into the woods after tripping over the snowmobile.
