Chenango County Sheriff Ernest Cutting was one of several law enforcement officials unveiling a new statewide crime prevention program on Thursday aimed at using synthetic forensic technology to thwart crime and help with criminal investigations. The technology can mark criminals or items with an invisible, non-toxic, water-based solution that contains a unique DNA code which can scientifically connect a person or item to a specific location. Cutting said that initial training on the new tools will start next week at the statewide Sheriff Conference.
