Fun.'s lengthy concert tour just got even longer with the announcement of additional U.S. dates in early 2013.

Fun. were all about cannonballs and bombast in their video for 'Some Nights,' the title track of their breakout sophomore record. However, the band are backing away from the Civil War and back into their normal lives for their clip for 'Carry On.'

The 2012 MTV Europe Music Awards are going to be one star-studded event. In addition to No Doubt, Taylor Swift and Muse, the network has confirmed that nominees Carly Rae Jepsen, Rita Ora and fun. will be performing as well.

Carly Rae Jepsen is more than capable of writing and performing a pop hit by her lonesome — see the ever-ubiquitous ‘Call Me Maybe’ for proof — but she really likes working with other artists, too. She’s adding more to her roster, which already includes Owl City, Justin Bieber and Redfoo of LMFAO. Who’s up next?

How’s this for some happy news? Rockers Fun. gave kids at the New York-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital a visit they won’t soon forget. Last week, the band popped into the hospital to perform an acoustic set, hoping to lift the children’s spirits.

Selena Gomez indicated that she was letting music simmer on the backburner while she focused on films, including the much-buzzed about ‘Spring Breakers,’ an edgy flick where she plays a co-ed who gets into some trouble. Turns out she is missing music and plans to start recording again sooner than later and she wants Fun. and her bestie Taylor Swift to be a part of her next album.

Fun. opened the MTV Movie Awards in a big way. The New York band performed their massive hit ‘We Are Young,’ a song so ubiquitous that frontman Nate Ruess’ voice was at times drowned out by the singing crowd.

Fun. are the latest to cover Carly Rae Jepsen‘s inescapably catchy ‘Call Me Maybe,’ but their methods were a bit different — they didn’t lip sync!

As acts that seemingly came out of nowhere to score the year’s two biggest hits so far, fun. and Gotye have a lot in common. The guys of fun. have paid tribute to their fellow chart-topper with a cover of ‘Somebody That I Used to Know’ featuring Hayley Williams of Paramore.
